found in the westbahnstrasse in vienna. if you are interested in photography (and I bet you are) and photographic gear you should visit this street when in vienna. it’s packed with galleries and photographica shops. we do not have something even remotely similar here in berlin (or do we? please give me a hint!)
we do call that kind of ice cream fürst-pückler-eis here in germany… somehow the three colours behind the tree reminded me of it. i guess you could call it a bit far fetched, though.

i like the apparent contrast of positive thinking behind these bars but maybe that’s just what positive thinking is all about.

since my weekend trip to vienna two weeks ago was quite photographically inclined, i had taken my olympus 35rc with me. i was quite confident that i had sealed the light leak that in the camera but obviously i’m not even close (i’m showing the pictures nevertheless). if anybody has good advice how to find and fix the leak i’d be very interested to hear about that.
along with the olympus came my polaroid ee100 that i rarely use actually. but as we had booked the Urban Vienna Polaroid Tour with the friendly guys from PolaWalk it was a good opportunity to use the ee100 again. if you happen to be in vienna, have some spare time and are interested in polaroid photography i can heartily recommend taking a tour with Gilbert (and probably Thomas, too ;)). Gilbert is the guy with the red anorak btw.
the ee100 does have its own share of flaws and because i’m not really using it often enough i don’t know how to work around them. i took seven pictures, two of them came out just black, one is an okayish portrait and the other ones are shown here. i definitely have to practise ;)
i like the ee100 a lot but i have a bit of shutter triggering anxiety when it comes to analogue photography that i might have to overcome. i see pictures everywhere when i’m using the digital camera but when it comes to analogue i kind of procrastinate…
sticking to the steely theme from the last post, this is the riesenrad (giant ferris wheel) on vienna’s prater fairground. finally i could put my fisheye to good use.

i’m back from my trip to vienna and i’m still sifting all the photos i’ve taken. it’s been quite a long time that i had a week here without any post. i hope you’re still out there!?
we had a great weekend and have been really lucky with the weather which really helped with getting some pictures. here are some of them, others will definitely follow…
tomorrow i’m going to vienna again, where coincidentally this picture has been taken last year.
i’m going to spend a long photography weekend together with j.h., my dear friend and the initiator of our collaborative picture book effort over at nientedavendere.tumblr.com.
we are both going to take quite some stuff with us… lucky me, that i’m an m43 guy. my m43 circus will probably attend completely, the polaroid ee100 will have a little workout and probably the olympus rc35 will fit in there somewhere. i’ll leave the pentacon six in berlin, nevertheless i’m afraid i might need some physiotherapy next week ;)
i hope we can skip the snowy bits of viennese weather this year. i’m not sure whether i really prefer the forecast rain, though.
