workhorse

work horsea vibratory plate compactor (no, i’m not making this up, if you don’t trust me, trust Tony) having a rest at the weekend. again a picture from düsseldorf.

mountain view

moutain view

it doesn’t get much bigger mountain-wise here in berlin. that must be the north-face of the ostkreuz alps just over the border in lichtenberg.

our backyard II

our backyard II

a few weeks ago i posted our backyard and there was a comment by cardinal guzman who hinted at the necessity of some tender loving care for that backyard. apparently the owner read that comment because only a few days later the work began. i’m not sure that i like the results of that effort but i definitely like this picture of it. i think it has a quite mediterranean feel and we do not get that very often here in friedrichshain.

graphical construction site

graphical construction siteseen in friedrichshain, nordkiez. shot with the m.zuiko 45mm.

i like the title’s german version graphische baustelle somewhat better than the english one but the reason for that could be that i don’t use the correct translation… construction site does sound very formal to me and baustelle (which probably once was very formal, too) evokes some almost playground-like associations (the hills of sand, the strange gear, the sunset…). does that work with construction site, too or what else could be an appropriate term?

it’s possible though that i’m the only one with these feelings about the word baustelle and construction site is just perfect.

dune

the original motion picture’s sandtrack here at s-bahnhof ostkreuz, friedrichshain. the dunes reach quite impressive heights.
