i chose this composition to avoid any advertising on berlin alexanderplatz while getting this shot of the former ‘hotel stadt berlin’. when i came to berlin it was already  renamed to ‘forum hotel’ and for quite some time now it is known as the ‘park inn berlin’. according to wikipedia it is the tallest hotel-only building in germany.
the regular reader will maybe remember that they do sport a very nice panorama platform on the 40th floor that i can wholeheartedly recommend visiting when you happen to be in berlin.

berlin fernsehturm seen from karl-marx-allee. i especially like the six steel ropes on the left…
(i had to crop that frame quite severely because the longest lens i had with me that day was the 45mm…)
even trickier: squaring the sphere.
again fernsehturm, berlin alexanderplatz, shot with the m.zuiko 45mm  from the panorama platform at the 40th floor of the park inn hotel at about 150 metres above sea level. and that is about 70 metres below the center of the sphere. that’s about as close as it gets, i think ;)
the entry fee to the platform is 3 euros and i guess these are well spent when in berlin.
fernsehturm (again)
another one from alexanderplatz. i took this one just a few hours ago. i always find it fascinating to see the fernsehturm disappear in the mist like that.
shot when we still thought it was the start of a hard winter here in berlin. a few days later all the snow was gone and still is.
into the sun
after quite a heavy rain the sun came out (at least for a short while). berlin, alexanderplatz.
sounds reasonable to me!
